All CCTV surveillance systems are different. iCU custom design each solution to meet with your individual requirements - you may need a covert camera for discrete monitoring , high speed dome or need to connect to remote cameras over a radio link - all of these products can be supplied by iCU, but it is necessary to understand your particular security issues and have the ability to design and apply a cost effective solution - this is our job as a Systems Integrator

In this section we have shown some typical system components. These components  can be expanded, reduced or combined with other elements to provide your complete Solution.

Cameras and Observation Systems

An observation systems can consist of  one or many cameras - typically 4 but can be 64 or more. The cameras can be configured to connect to a conventional TV, or purpose designed CCTV monitor.  A video switcher (or Multiplexer) can be used to alternate between each camera in full screen view, or provide a 'split screen' view showing all cameras simultaneously.

External cameras are mounted in special weather proof enclosures which incorporate thermostatically controlled heaters to prevent lens misting in damp conditions.Where motor driven cameras are used, an optional control panel can allow the viewer to control the movement of cameras and to zoom in or out. A good observation system needs to be designed so that the correct lenses are selected to focus on the 'target view'. Where a particularly 'tight' focus is required we utilise varifocal lenses.

Detailed below are some of the different camera types available:

Dome Cameras: Compact, discreet surveillance that works quietly and efficiently

Ideal for:

  • Retail shops
  • Petrol stations
  • Small industrial sites
  • Car Parks
  • Schools

Designed specifically for applications that require constant high performance surveillance with flexibility, the SprintDome Plus brings with it all the latest technology of third generation Digital Signal Processing, including dynamic backlight compensation and continuous auto iris which provides the user with sharp, clear pictures.

Available in both colour and black and white, each dome has an optical 16x zoom lens ratio and a 8x digital magnifier.

Up to 16 cameras can be addressed by the aesthetically designed keyboard controller which has full telemetry control. Program menu options are displayed on the LCD backlight display in a choice of multiple languages.

Internal/ External  Cameras
Ideal for:

Applications such as:

  • Prestigious new buildings

  • Flagship retail stores

  • Blue chip offices

Where aesthetics are important without compromising performance.

The Protos 3 Range was designed to offer the installer a wide range of specifications but in the same well designed, stylish casing. Following on from the Protos 2 & Digital Range of cameras this is still the case, but now the cameras have additional features which make them suitable for virtually any installation.

A complement to the Protos 3 EXview™, Protos 3 Remote Set-up and Protos 3 Day/Night Ranges, the Protos 3 Range of cameras consist of high and medium resolution colour and monochrome versions.

Covert Cameras: A miniature camera concealed within a range of casings provides ideal covert surveillance for a wide range of indoor applications

Designed to provide discreet video and audio surveillance for a broad range of internal applications these monochrome and colour covert cameras includes PIRs, an office clock, colour and mono fixed domes and vandal resistant domes. Each of these functional casings conceals an undetectable camera.

Day/ Night Cameras: Ideal for applications where good daytime monitoring needs to be combined with night time coverage

These cameras feature EXview™ technology. The EXview™ chip set provides increased sensitivity, with the addition of a switchable IR cut filter*. The Protos 3 Colour/Mono range offers a good cost effective solution where high resolution daytime monitoring needs to be combined with infra red sensitivity for maximum performance at night. These  Day/Night IR cameras offer you the specification you need without compromising style.

Image Recording Equipment

iCUoffer digital recording solutions as well as conventional analogue video recording equipment with time and date stamping (i.e. time and date shown on screen). Time/date stamped recordings should be of sufficient quality to be used as legal evidence. Time lapse video recorders should not be confused with domestic video recorders. They are built to withstand constant recording use for long periods and can typically record 960 hours of video images and have an IT engineering capability allowing full integration of your CCTV and computer system.

Typical systems available are detailed below:

Digital Recording

This system offers easy to use Windows™ style menus and an attractive design which provides a useful platform for a high performance monitor.

It is a high quality simple to use digital hard disk video recorder. Combining the functions of a multiplexer with the ease of use of a VCR and telemetry switcher, the Vista Columbus is perfectly suited for medium retail applications, shopping centres, banking and commercial premises. Using the latest Wavelets™ compression technology, the Vista Columbus records pictures up to a resolution greater than SVHS standard. The unit records in conventional time-lapse modes, including event, real-time, 24 hour through to 960 hours time-lapse at the update rates normally associated with a VCR and multiplexer combination.

Using the built-in hard disk drive or external archive medium the unit both records to and plays back from these media. The Vista Columbus is compatible with DDS3, DDS4, AIT and AIT2 media.

The feature set included with the Vista Columbus make this the most suited digital product to many standard applications.

Analogue Recording

Having all the normal advanced features, the VVR24HRT can record "real-time" (over 16 f.p.s.) video for 24 hours on E240 tapes. This gives you more recorded images in 24 hours, unsurpassed by any other 24 hour time-lapse VCR in the industry.

Remote Monitoring Solutions & Computer Network Integration

It is possible to view camera pictures when you are away from your premises by transmitting the camera pictures to you. This gives you the option of verifying intruder alarms or just simply keeping an eye on things.

You can view your camera pictures from anywhere in the world, using your pc and a standard telephone line. It is also possible for us to provide you with a system to access your CCTV system via the Internet.

Previously, these systems have been severely limited by the available technology. Now we are able to provide systems with sufficient  speed to be able to see either a bank teller counting money notes or shoplifters putting stolen goods into their bags - all through an ordinary telephone line.

Our video monitoring system lets you monitor multiple views from remote premises without leaving your office. It can allow the user to record video of activities from a distant location. More than that, it can keep track of alarm events from thousands of miles away.

Video Entry Systems

A Video Entry System comprises of a camera and intercom external to the property and a monitor and intercom inside the property. When your visitor presses the call button, the chime operates and the monitor unit activates alerting you who is outside. It is then possible to activate an electrically operated door mechanism to allow your visitor entry.

iCU's Video Entry System also records up to 16 "Time Stamped" images for you to review , thereby giving you a video record of who has been outside your entrance door.

The external camera has built in Infra-Red lighting which enables you to view visitors even in low light levels.

It is possible to expand these units with additional handsets to allow the unit to be operated from more than one area.
